You Gotta Fight…For Your Right…To Use Your Own Computer

So, would you think me a bad mother if I told you my two year old son watches YouTube?

It started out innocently enough. After I figured out you can watch pretty much anything ever made on YouTube I started looking up children’s songs and shows for EB. EB is a little obsessed with Thomas The Tank Engine. And, of course, there was every episode ever made (and even some homemade ones) on YouTube. Once I let EB watch a couple, and then everytime he saw me at the computer he would insist that he needed to watch a Thomas episode.

So now when I sit at the computer, EB thinks I am preparing the way for him to watch a video. And so I must resort to blogging in the wee hours of the morning.

I’m a 33 year old woman and my computer has been hijacked by a two year old.

Oh my gosh, I am going through the same thing!!!!

Jack hasn’t seen anything on Youtube except for the laughing baby which he thinks is hilarious! What he is addicted to is “Mick June-ger” his way of saying Nick Junior. They have games on their website and he can actually use the mouse extremely well. It just drives me nuts to sit down here and have him screaming in my ear that he wants to “PLAY GAMES!!!!!”
I am SOOO getting him that “Leapfrog- my first computer” for Christmas!

My kids too, honey! My son wants to watch Nolan Ryan all the time. His name is Nolan and it’s the only other person he’s heard of with the same name! My 3 year old daughter likes playing games.

Right there with ya, babe! My 5 year old is an old pro now at typing words to search for in Google then he knows which link to click for videos. I really have to watch what he is viewing though, because he’s come across pretty inappropriate stuff.
