That Place Was Crackalackin’

Well, aside from feeling like death warmed over, I am still trying to process the big Valentine’s Day party at daycare. I felt like I had stepped into a war zone. The sugary snacks, the whining children…..my poor throbbing head. I had never in my life seen such a chaotic scene, and I’m trying to decide if it was just magnified THAT much because I felt so bad, or was it really that bad? Are all little kid school parties like this? I know kids get excited, and I’ve seen it before. But it was wild, y’all. Wild.

my son’s 4yr old preschool class had a party of sorts on VD. he came home with a bag full of shit – well, not really – more of a bag full of various princess and spiderman valentines and candy that he will never be allowed to eat. what’s the point? at least i couldn’t be there since i had to work. does that make me a bad mommy?

Yes its that bad, although I miss those days, I really do. As they grow you kind of just trade one thing for another…now mine lock themselves in upstairs banging on the drums and the guitars at top amp volume….but at least i know where they are and what theyre doing…now all my cooking and prep is for the teens at my house, at least i dont have to carry it to the school!

Little one only has 6 other kids in his class so it’s not that bad, but big one has 16 and indeed it is chaos. It only gets louder as they get older, but I’m glad they’re not teens yet. I’m not so sure how well I’ll do when they have Valentine’s other than their mom.

Little ones can be very loud if they are in a large room and sugar is involved! You definitely should have been at my party!
