Holding On To Hope

So, if you’ve been following along (and by the way, the comments you guys left had me rolling laughing), you know Cracked Daddy got scammed. But y’all…he just won’t give it up.

Yesterday he called me from work:

Cracked Daddy: “Did he bring the money back yet?”

Me: Um…no, honey. And he’s not going to.

CD: I reached him again on the cell phone and he said his truck broke down in _____ City and he’d leave it under the welcome mat before tonight.”

So I got the job of checking under the mat throughout the day, rolling my eyes to the heavens because I know That Man is not bringing our money back.

I just wish Cracked Daddy could accept that. Denial is the first stage in coming to terms with something, right?

He is either a very trusting soul or he just can’t stand the fact that you may be right.

Oh, poor CD! That would be me….I would have totally given that guy the money thinking I was getting a real bargain.

Maybe you should just put a $20. bill under the mat and let him think he got it back.

Win/Win! You don’t have to listen to it anymore and he thinks he didn’t get scammed. THEN TAKE IT TO YOUR GRAVE!
