Getting a great start to our morning is important to me as a mother. I like to be sure my son has a good breakfast that will keep him feeling great until lunch time. He is a picky eater, so actually finding things he likes to eat can be a challenge. Fortunately, cereal is one of those breakfast foods he enjoys without a fuss.
We were recently sent 5 Kellogg’s cereals to try out as part of the Start Simple. Start Right. campaign and taste for ourselves how good a wholesome and simple breakfast can be. We received the following cereals:
When purchasing cereals, the very first thing I look at is sugar content. Let’s face it, almost every cereal that kids love is loaded with sugar. While sugar is fine in moderation, I know that too much of it can be a bad thing. My husband and I both have Type 2 diabetes. I want to provide my son with healthier choices when it comes to his meals.
- Just as what is in cereal is important, what’s equally interesting is how it is made. I’m becoming more aware that how food makes it’s way to our tables can be very indicative of it’s nutritional value. Kellogg’s has created an infographic and video on how their cereals are made from seed to spoon.
It’s great to see Kellogg’s “Seed to Spoon” approach at creating cereals that I can feel confident offering my family.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kellogg’s. I received sample products to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
