With Independence Day only a few days away, you may be getting your menu ready and looking for some delicious 4th of July dessert ideas. Growing up, I always looked forward to this particular day because my daddy grilled the best barbecue ribs and my mom’s potato salad just couldn’t be beat! Our house would overflow with friends and family and if you went home hungry, it was your own fault! Our whole neighborhood was filled with the smells of hamburgers, hot dogs, and ribs grilling, families were in their backyards playing in plastic swimming pools, and at night all of the neighborhood kids would gather in the middle of the street and shoot fireworks until the mosquitos made us surrender. Over the years, our celebrations have become a little smaller but this year we will gather once again with our close friends and family to celebrate this monumental day in America.
Along with the main dishes you will be serving on this day, remember that dessert is just as important! We always kept is simple with homemade ice cream or watermelon, but thanks to the internet (and Pinterest), there are so many wonderful, amazing, and delicious ideas for Fourth of July desserts floating around. Below are 14 to get you started.
