But what if we consciously tried saying “yes” a little bit more? (Even if just for a day?) Enter our joyful “Summer of YES” event with our friends at GoodPop, makers of better-for-you frozen treats that parents can most definitely say YES to.

We kicked off our “Summer of YES” with a trip to Austin (GoodPop‘s hometown) to gather with an inspiring group of moms, dads, and kids for a full roster of activities at the colorful Create! art studio + play space.

Upon entry, each child received a passport filled with a variety of fun happenings that parents could feel good about stamping “YES” next to. This includes enjoying GoodPop popsicles for breakfast and coffee (for kids!) by Kiid Coffee, using your body as a canvas (thanks to OOLY, Welly, and Super Smalls), painting on the walls (via our “YES” mural), making a silly face in our “pop personality” portrait booth, noshing on waffles by Evergreen and crackers and s’mores by Sunnie, playing freely, and so much more!

Every detail of our event was intentional, heartfelt, and inspired by the powerful legacy of Ruth Asawa—a prolific artist, mother of 6, and public arts advocate who changed the way art is taught in local schools. Our stunning floral arrangements featured blooms seen in Ruth’s botanical drawings, our 3-course menu was infused with Japanese flavors, and our guests found their tables through visual cues and reflection questions that were linked to the exhibition.

After walking through the sprawling 12-gallery show and hearing how the exhibition came to be (after several years of plotting by SFMOMA), our guests walked away filled with inspiration and a gift bag curated with goodies from Chronicle Books (the incredible Everything She Touched biography of Ruth Asawa), artful play things for the family (from Mudpuppy, Brass Monkey, Galison, and the SFMOMA Museum Store), and the cherry-on-top: a gorgeous bud vase inspired by the retrospective, encasing a succulent that was hand-harvested from Ruth Asawa’s Noe Valley garden by her grandson. Talk about legacy!

We enjoyed delicious coffee and tea by Lady Falcon Coffee Club, a parfait bar by Three Wishes, bagels by Daily Driver, wine by Flowers, and birthday cake and custom MOTHER cupcakes by Sprinkles, while enjoying the “Cocoon” exhibition by Rebecca Louise Law. The interactive art show included dried flowers cascading down from the ceiling, and enveloping guests in a stunning womb-like orb. It was the perfect way to celebrate a very special MOTHER’s Day together.

Additional dazzle was added via our event florals by Natalie Brookshire, tabletop wares by Minted, take-home frames by Zenni, on-the-go meals by Thistle, body care by Summer Solace, MOTHER hats by Brycie Prints, and beautiful women in art postcards by Rachel Ignotofsky.

To celebrate the holiday season, dozens of lucky mamas, papas, and kiddos joined Hanna and MOTHER for a festive fête sporting their mix & match Hanna Andersson pajamas.

Coordinating classic plaids with fresh prints, each family donned unique looks while celebrating the season at the coziest holiday party in L.A. Julia Sariñana, Tika Sumpter, and LaLa Milan and their families were just a few of the celebs who joined us for a magical roster of activities.

Hosted at the Meri Cherry art studio in Los Angeles, the event included holiday-themed interviews with 11-year-old celeb reporter Taylen Biggs, cookie decorating with Bakery Bling, fresh amazake waffles by Culture Crush, hot cocoa served out of the most darling Falcon Enamelware mini-mugs, ornament-making, temporary tattoos, and so much more!
